You can call me Ali. I became a nurse in January 2021 after completing my nursing diploma at George Brown College in Toronto. Since then, I have worked in both long-term care and hospital settings.
I completed a Basic/Advanced Foot Care Course at St. Clair College to learn how to manage foot pain and improve overall foot health.
As a healthcare worker, I saw a need for better foot care, treatments for foot problems, and ways to manage pain. I wanted to find a way to improve this in our local community by reaching out to different health professionals and form an alliance to make it happen.
Hi Iām Alison
I truly believe that our feet are important and can easily be harmed. Many people don't realize that our feet are at risk of developing long-term problems. However, with proper care and early treatment, we can prevent common issues like wounds, painful ingrown toenails, and neglected fungal infections. Additionally, years of working and dealing with lower limb pain can make retired life difficult and less enjoyable. These are the problems that inspired me to explore and use new methods in this field, which are not commonly used in this area.
In the hospital, I've learned the importance of planning and setting achievable goals. It's necessary to create a plan that we both agree on and find reasonable. Taking care of your feet and addressing lower limb problems is a project that takes time but can lead to noticeable improvements. Whether it's keeping your nails healthy, getting rid of your ingrown toe nails, or reducing pain in your legs during daily activities.
